Wow, what a hugely exhausting yet incredible weekend the last bank holiday was. We racked up over 450 miles for three great events, we feel as if we’ve only just recovered! The first Film on a Farm was fantastic; ‘Topgun’ never fails to draw the crowds, and with the threat of thunder only adding to the tension it was an incredible turn out. Seeing moviegoers from last year who had returned wanting “the usual” was great, and it was really enjoyable to meet all of the first timers. Both the Tipsy Box and the Coffee Bar were a huge hit.
Next we were off to Essex for what was described as “a small gathering for a 70th birthday.” We were surprised to be met with a huge crowd of thirsty barn dancers who promptly drank the bar dry…twice! We really had to draw on our extra stock for these thirsty cowboys! It was a great event with great people; we met some real characters and we were seriously impressed with the guests’ ability to keep the party a secret from the birthday girl.
Then, like a scene out of ‘Smokey and the Bandit’ we were on the road again. We were heading back to our home County of Hampshire for the second Film on a Farm - ’Mamma Mia’. The weather was beautiful and a chilled glass of Sauvy B seemed to be the order of the day. The film created a fantastically fun atmosphere, with singing and dancing galore. Again, we loved serving some familiar faces, people seem to come back again and again to experience this awesome event.
More to come soon, from what is shaping up to be an extremely busy summer season for The Tipsy Goose.
